Interesting argument. I don’t know that I fully subscribe to the different character classifications you list, but I do agree with the overall thesis.

I found the part about Frankenstein’s Monster particularly interesting – I had to write a Marxist analysis on the book a few semesters ago and it’s interesting to see a slightly different perspective. I think The Monster serves a larger role than simply being a reflection of Dr. F’s emotional turmoil, but he does make for an excellent emotional foil

This is so true. Instant messaging and SMS has really made our use of proper punctuations and words go down especially with the young ones.

After the install, you need to both tell Affixa what account to use, then you have to tell Windows that this is your default mail handling program.

After installing Affixa, there should be an icon in the bottom right-hand corner that looks like a solid green circle. Clicking on it brings up the Affixa basket window. Click the “AFFiXA” logo on the top toolbar (to the left of “New Basket”) and choose “Options.” This will allow you to specify your account.

After that, you have to tell Windows that Affixa is the program you want to handle your email. This is different, based on what version of Windows you have. Please let me know what version of Windows you have (XP/Vista/7) and I’ll give you appropriate instructions.

I have downloaded affixa, mow what do I do? there is no prompts to or window to tell it what mailbox to make default….. there are no instructions! Help

Absolutely. I did some poking around facebook’s website, and can’t seem to find a location to suggest features. Perhaps those of us who want it can create and advertise a Facebook page advocating for this capability.

Also, apparently, Facebook has actually come up with a translation feature, but it is for developers who are using it in conjunction with their own site to translate it for Facebook. There must be a way!

Hi, I googled on this subject looking either for Facebook’s development schedule/plans on this, or a suggestion box. I have this same wish for quite some time, so I am all with you on this. (I was triggered by one more update of an Icelandic friend ).
Now if we can put it on Facebooks agenda somewhere?

Yep Dan.. I completely recognise what you’re saying as I’ve gone through the same thing “studying” to be a graphic designer. Some of my classmates now are “artists” who have their art in galleries. Who really try to make a living just creating whatever the feck they want; but it’s not an easy life for them! It’ll take -years- and dedication. Being an artist or a writer isn’t something you do to make loads of money. You do it because it’s your calling. Because you simply don’t know how to live your life in any other way without taking away from your own happiness and wellbeing.

If it’s worth it; go for it. But only -you- decide on the worth of it.

I, in the end, decided that it wasn’t worth it for me. I’m not an artist. I’m not creative enough. I don’t have the drive or mojo to get to the place where I can honestly pick my own jobs and do whatever the fuck I like. And I certainly don’t have the patience to wait for years until it pays off. So I chose a different carreer.

Understand who you are and what you need and the rest will follow. If this is what you were made to do, then it’ll be all right in the end.
