And there was much Left 4 Dead played.

Saturday we got up and went to the Amish smorgasbord, Shady Maple, in Lancaster.  This is like, my favorite place for breakfast, ever.  Usually, if there is any doubt on whether I can come out to Edwin’s place on the weekend, he usually just says “Shady Maple” and I’m always like “I’m there.”  The place is gynormus, and they have a whole lot more there than the smorgasbord, though that’s the only reason why I go.  Gift shops and a farmer’s market, and the such.  Standard Amish faire.  I always get the handmade Eggs Benedict, and then whatever else I feel like.  They have the best made-to-order pancakes, which I didn’t get this time, but they’re the best.  I did take part of Edwin’s sweet potato pancake though.  MMMMMM.

We were exhausted as hell.  We had stayed up most of the night, as I mentioned prior. . .

. . .because we played much Left 4 Dead. . .

. . .but the reason Kervin was down here in PA was so he could go shopping for a car.  So we were going dealer-hopping after we left Shady Maple.  I was so exhausted, that I ended up falling asleep in the car.  Once, I woke up alone in the car, got out, and-BAM-Kervin had bought one.  Well, he was test-driving it at the time but, he bought it.  A real nice-looking BMW.  I forget model and all that, but it looked cool.

The salesman was a funny fellow, an immigrant from the UK.  We all had a great time laughing and joking around while waiting for Kervin’s screwed up insurance company (read: State Farm) to get him the paperwork he needed faxed over.

Then we went home, and Edwin’s wife Jeesely made lasagna.  It was awesome.  There is not much to be said.  Very few lasagna’s can hold a candle to my mother’s. but this one did.  AND it was cooked lean (they’re doing the Weight Watchers thing.  I’m just doing exercise, but I need to go more!).  That was very good, and Jeesely gave me some for lunch the next day.  I <3 Jeesely.

Then we played more Left 4 Dead. and some Guitar Hero.

Then we watched the movie “Role Models.”  Funniest thing I’ve seen in a VERY long time.  I enjoyed it immensely.  It’s just way too foul to go into on the site, just go watch it

Then we played more Left 4 Dead. 

I went to bed after 2 am, and woke up at 6 am to go to work on Sunday.

Sunday work was slow as anything, so I spent the day half-working on BlackBerry stuff and half watching a whole bunch of videos on Hulu. (See Lifestream)

Then I went home, was in bed by 8pm, and slept clear til Monday morning.

He had played for a while before me, so I was still working my way up from Easy mode, figuring it all out.  But the music selection is fun, and Through the Fire and the Flames by Dragon Force has got to be my most favorite song evar.

So I’m working my ass off, right?  And then one day, as I finally completed a number of achievements and finished out Easy Career mode… I looked and saw that I had actually passed up Edwin in gamerscore!  I had 75 points to his 70!

This means I was getting better, and might be able to like, duel him or something later!  I could go coop in Medium with him, so we can get those achievements!

Was Edwin as excited as I?  Hell no.  What does his ghey ass do?

He goes and ups the score in a single night of constant hammering away at Medium!

And today, I’m at work, and see he’s logged into Guitar Hero III again!  So I messaged his XBox:

“Dude.  Stop Playing GH3.”

Then I get a reply via text message:

“I upped the points for you off to joels to continue tacking on a challenge for u ”

DAAAAAAMMMMMIIIITTTTTTT!

Enter Edwin and his “Manniversary!”  It has been 2 years since the two of us met, back in the old training department, and we decided to spend the weekend doing all the guy stuff to occupy me.

Yesterday consisted of me starting to play and then being addicted to Guitar Hero III.  I played through a majority of the easy mode… then got down with the Devil Went Down to Georgia and the Mjolnir mix from Halo 2.  (Just writing about it makes me want to go play some more >.>)  Then I started playing and got addicted to Geometry Wars 2 on Xbox Arcade… daaaamn… I want my 360….

Edwin’s wife Jeesely spoiled me with breakfast, and we went to California Tortilla for dinner.  They had some awesome food there, and the customer service is top notch.  Working in a field where I value customer service, they did everything perfectly by my book, and they are probably due for me to write a full post reviewing their restaurant.  (The kicker was the shelf with literally 40 or more different hot sauces available for use on whatever you ordered, rated from 1 to 10 in hotness.)

Then we came home and had Jeesely mix us “coquito,” a very yummy drink consisting of egg nog, Bacardi, cream of coconut, and nutmeg.  Mmmmmm…. I got seriously buzzzed.  And from there, Edwin and I started to play Gears of War on the most difficult (“Insane”) level.  I never played the game before, and it took me a while to learn how to take cover and stop accidentally jumping out into the paths of bullets without shooting at them.

Today:  Jeesely spoiled me yet again with another awesome breakfast.  Then, we went to Dave and Buster’s, so we could take advantage of their NFL Sunday Ticket and watch the Jets-Titans football game.  Edwin being a Jets fan, he got his full gloat on as the Titans 10-0 record was TROUNCED TO F*CKING DEATH by the now 8-3 Jets.  There is no way I can say the Titans ever stood a chance; they never had control of the game.

Then, I followed Edwin faithfully to the Apple Store, so they could unbrick his iPhone.  He let the computer go into sleep mode while he was updating his device, and it trashed it.  Poor man spend all night long trying to fix it.  Their solution?  Hook it to a Mac.  Why didn’t WE think of that…….

And now we’re back at home, taking a look at the music awards before we continue into Gears of War

I will make more individualized posts, hopefully this week, on each of the individual items on this post for more detail, but this was more aimed at my awesome weekend with my friends.
